Thank you for this article. This especially resonated with me: Many of them hesitate to leave a comment simply because they don’t know whether they’ll express themselves the right way. Others don’t dare to be vulnerable in public.
That makes sense. Sometimes that's how I feel. I'm "getting over" the very little activity around my posts and notes. Reading this article helped.
I also got these moments, you know, and sometimes I feel very demotivated when it comes to low engagement. That’s why I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences, just to remind everyone that the coin has two sides.
I do all of this and for a long time I was doing really well. I went from 40k views a month to a measly 13k night now. Every day I’m losing more views. I’m only seeing the same people comment on my stuff. It’s almost like only a handful are seeing my stuff. I’m at a loss these days.
Unfortunately, it’s a common issue with a lot of creators here 🤷🏻♀️ I also got moment when my views were really down … Do your Notes get higher engagement?
Yes, most of my Substack content is vulnerability and it seems to get me interest from outside my network too. I am lucky to receive many equally compassionate and vulnerable comments. Still growing my subscriber count though.
I liked how you broke it down into simple easy steps & it’s all basically about engagement. But Substack is like a big English class with lots of different stories.
Its definitely a big English class 🫶🏻Yesterday I launched a post about the connection between Substack and Pinterest, you can take a look at it if you’re interested in substack visibility
What a helpful post! Substack can feel overwhelming with commitment to write, post, read others’ posts and notes, and engage meaningfully. But this makes it feel doable. Thanks!
You're welcome! I am publishing a new novel, week by week. It's been enjoyable watching people's reactions to it! Of course I'd like to get as broad an audience as possible, but it's slow going here.
I haven't written anything, I kind of not getting any idea to write and I don't know what to write but I sometimes leave comment to author who I have related the most.
writing is my biggest challenge, my low iron leaves me with a brain fog and I haven’t written consistently and also engagements too is a huge challenge.
I had over 800 views on a post and 1 comment. I just don’t understand if baffling to me. So it’s helpful to know what I need to improve on and where I need to improve.
Soon, I had a coaching session when I was explaining exactly this situation: when your audience is growing, sometimes engagement as comments and likes goes down
This is great-thank you for sharing. As someone starting out in the platform-it is hard work getting the engagement. The writing is “easy” in comparison. Appreciate you-
I’m one of those people who don’t know how to comment the right way…
Sometimes even saying “your words make me feel better” is more than enough 🫶🏻
Thanks Ana, this post was the most relatable for me both as a reader and a writer
Thank you so much for your feedback 🫶🏻
That’s exactly what I was thinking about as I read through this wonderful piece. Thanks Ana.
Awww there is no right way. This is already the perfect comment.

I’d say the engagement with notes and posts are about the same.
Unfortunately it’s been a steady decline for a couple months now. I’m still on here every single day.

You’re doing the right thing, I feel it! Keep going 🫶🏻❤️
Thank you! It's part of my life path, inside and outside of business anyway...

Thanks for sharing this article💛 as a new substack creator, just these last few weeks, this is one of the most insightful posts I’ve seen so far
I’m so happy! ❤️what are you writing about these days
What a helpful post! Substack can feel overwhelming with commitment to write, post, read others’ posts and notes, and engage meaningfully. But this makes it feel doable. Thanks!
Thank you, Jen! What’s your goal on Substack these days?

That’s the beginning of connection ❤️
Yes it is.
Thank you for sharing this, sometimes we forget to engage in other authors. This is a lovey reminder.
Thank you for being here🫶🏻What’s your biggest challenge on Substack these days?

Did you audience on Substack grow through this time? It could also affect the engagement
Audience is growing now
Soon, I had a coaching session when I was explaining exactly this situation: when your audience is growing, sometimes engagement as comments and likes goes down
Yes but why? I got so many views but barely any likes and comments
I get discouraged so much because I know what I write is awesome but getting engagement and feedback let alone subscribers is like pulling teeth.
Thanks so much for this post

Thank you, Eric!🫶🏻Don’t forget always to add the leave a comment button
Thanks for that tip-going to be going back to do that on older posts!
I can totally relate to all of this. Thank you b
Glad that I could help you❤️
